Bellevue Tuesday

Under partly sunny skies we headed 20 miles downstream to Bellevue on Tuesday.  Due to high water on the river no docks were available so we experienced our first anchor out.  We went through Lock #12 and headed near shore where Bob lowered the anchor.  He let out about 50' of chain and then about 40' of nylon line and attached to that was the bouy trip line.  Then he got down the other anchor and off he went in the dinghy with it.  He dropped that anchor about 40' further into the middle of the river so that if the wind would shift we wouldn't swing in toward shore.  What a smart guy!
Volunteer, Jean Davidsaver, at the Chamber of Commerce gave us lots of great ideas as to where to go & what to see in Bellevue.
The Bellevue House Inn - it is a Bed & Breakfast overlooking the lock & dam.

Mont Rest - A Bed & Breakfast in Bellevue.  What an interesting story behind this old house.

This place was most recently a Bed & Breakfast & Restaurant but is currently closed.

And last but not least.... a fabulous little cafe near Potter's Mill where Margaret serves homemade burgers with toasted buns.  Mmmmmm! that really tops off a burger.  The cafe is connected to Margaret's son's service station on the south end of Bellevue.  They also serve soft ice cream, but it taste like homemade.

I wish I could have been there to see Bob's anchoring expertise.
