Gallup to Phoenix

Up early Sunday a.m. we drove to Phoenix taking the scenic route. Arrived at Sister Norma and Charlie's house in north Phoenix at about 2:30. Harmke and Charlie came over for supper about 5:30 and we all enjoyed yummy food and too much pie on the patio as we watched the parrots fighting over the bird feeder. So cool.

Boulder, Yuma, and LA

The great October loop started Oct. 16th, 2009. Bob & I drove mom's car Friday afternoon from Des Moines to Boulder. Arrived in Denver at 11:30p.m. to Mary & Dave's welcoming home in Boulder. Toured the area which included the high school where Mary teaches and also Dave's office. After a great lunch at the Cheesecake Factory we headed to Gallup, New Mexico which would be our Saturday night stay.

That beautiful cake. Personally, I think that guy in the hat is more beautiful.

The Bachelorette Party

The crazy gals I work with planned a fun night with many surprises. First something to eat at Blue Moon in West Glen. Opening presents was very entertaining and embarrassing. The table of 6 sitting next to us had a good time checking out the gifts. After presents we attempted to find/or do all the things listed on the scavenger hunt list. Some items listed were... get a free drink, ask someone to marry you, get a pair of underwear, get a condom, get a piggy back ride, wear your bra on the outside of your shirt, etc. We sure had fun with that. After Blue Moon had had enough of us, we went to Uncle Buck's where the mechanical bull was waiting to give me a ride. Yes it was an experience.

The Wedding

4:30 Saturday Aug. 29, 2009 the pontoon boat heads for the Martin's Point on the west side of Big Creek State Park. On board are Bob Schaut, Susan Roewe, Pastor Dennis Easton, Leona Martin, Loretta Schaut, Taylor & Miranda Roewe, Heston Roewe, Rob Schaut, Greg Newcomer, and Captain Gale Goranson & his wife Maureen.

After a beautiful wedding ceremony on the boat, Bob & Susan Schaut exit the boat at the west side boat ramp with all the others. We all ascend the hill to Jolly Boat Shelter house for the reception. A beautiful 4 tier cake awaits. The cake was made by my co - worker Kristin Petersen. Yummy butter mints were made by co - worker Susan Lutz. Ryan Companies hires such created & talented people.

F250

What a sweet ride! This will be pulling our sailboat next year to some lake. Maybe only as far as the Big Creek boat ramp, but hey, we will know that the boat won't sink and we'll be able to check out all the lights, gear, motor, etc. and then won't have far to tow it for any repairs. Then after sailing down the Mississippi in 2011 and all around the Gulf, this mighty truck can pull our camper/5th wheel around this great country.

The first Big purchase as "US".

The Jeep sold quickly on craigslist leaving Bob without transportation. Thanks to buddy, Phil, he borrowed his Jeep.

Looked at the powerful F250 diesel extended cab on Monday and we will driving it home on Sat. June 6th.

Lined up the minister for the wedding ceremony on Tuesday, so we are good to go there. Now to go downtown and pick up the license. We should be in great shape.
