After a delicious homemade sticky roll for breakfast, the guys rigged the lines, set up the dinghy, attached the boom and Magna grill to ready for launching.
Rod at the marina backed the boat into the water with the JD tractor while Dennis, the marina owner, guided him. Bob & Phil prepared for the launch on the boat.
Just about ready to lift off the trailer where it has sat for nearly 20 years.
Bob & Phil motor Heron to the other end of the marina and tie her up to the dock.
After christening Heron with a bottle of sparkling wine, the crew celebrates.

Yay! Congrats on the splash!
Thanks. It was indescribably exciting.
She looks a whole lot better in the water than she did in "drydock"
It's fun to see the process unfold as you have launched and slipped "Heron" for the first time. We're anxious to hear and see how she sails and all the neat places you visit while on Lake Pepin.
I am so happy for you both! Wish I was there to give you a hug as you sailed off on your great adventure. I'll stay in touch via your blog. ~ Jana Morgan
