Natchez, MS - Lunch & Rosalie

We felt honored that Bride Danielle would be able to make time for us on "her" big day.  She met us for lunch at "Magnolia Grill" overlooking the Mississippi River.

Natchez, MS - The Wedding

We finally got the rental car from Enterprise at 11:00 Friday morning, and hit the road for Natchez, MS. The trip was about 5 hours.  Friday happened to be my Aunt Mavis and Uncle Dale's 60th wedding anniversary so their son, Jeff & wife, Barb took my Mom and Bob and I out for supper at a fancy historical home called Monmouth to celebrate.

Standing is my cousin, Jeff & his wife, Barb.  They live in Enterprise, AL so they drove over to Natchez for the wedding.  Sitting is Uncle Dale & Aunt Mavis.  Mavis is my Mom's little sister.

My Mom, looking gorgeous.

Above is my cousin, Dana, his youngest son, Taylor and wife, Jennifer.
Dana is the bride's father.  They live in Apollo Beach, FL.

And Saturday morning the bride made time to meet all of us for lunch. She was very excited.

Cousin Barb & Aunt Mavis.

After lunch with Bride Danielle, we had time to go tour this beautiful Antebellum home.  It is only one of  19 Antebellum homes in Natchez, MS.  The day we were there, was the "Fall Pilgrimage" where the homes are open to tour. (Bob & I will be going back to Natchez when we have more time)

Tenn - Tom Waterway - Stennis Lock & Dam

Stennis Lock & Dam is at Columbus, MS.  It is located only 1/4 mile from our marina and there is a nice park on our side of the dam.  Makes for a nice walk. The dam is at mile marker 334.7 on the trip to Mobile Bay.  Mile marker 0.0 is at Mobile.  So you know how many more miles before the white sand & clear water.

About 10 minutes north of the marina is this huge beautiful plantation, built in 1850's by Colonel George Hampton Young.

This made for an interesting fun outing on a beautiful sunny fall day.

Tenn - Tom Waterway -Columbus Marina -

Air Boat

This guy went through the marina with this air boat.  He motored close along the shore & sprayed something on the shoreline.  Don't know if it was pesticide or herbicide, but it was interesting to see the boat up this close.

We walked over to the lock & dam this a.m. and it looks like a really good spot for fishing. So later this evening, I'm going to give it a try.  I'll let you know how I come out & hopefully I,ll have a photo to share of allllllll the fish, I catch.

Tenn - Tom Waterway - Columbus Marina

Sorry, no new posts lately. I woke up Friday with a debilitating sinus infection, sore throat & headache.  Better today but moving mighty slow.  Hopefully, tomorrow I'll get some pics or something.  We will be at this marina until about Oct. 25th.  and then we will high-tail it to the gulf.  Friends Gale & Marine, sent us a message this morning at 11:00 that they came out into Mobile Bay.

We will be heading to Natchez, MS Friday to attend my cousin, Dana's daughter's wedding.  There will be lots of photos the following Monday.  My Mom, her sister & husband (Mavis & Dale) will be driving down for the wedding, too.  Mavis & Dale's son, Jeff (my cousin & his wife) will be coming over from Enterprise, AL.  Can't wait & very glad I got sick last Friday, not this coming Friday.
